How could you adapt or change one of your current class/course policies to reflect a moving mindset? Is this a change you are willing to make? Why or Why not?

I teach Family and Consumer Science, many of the skills are hands on, but learning to use technology with common sense will be a new unit.

Students will be flooded wtih options and resouces, knowing when and how to use them will be a new frontier.

I shall add it to my units, also I shall continue to offer new assignments that will engage their interest and help their technology use.

  1. Angie, I'm not sure what all is taught in FACS, but I do know many of the nutritional sites are great and engaging for kids. Even having kids film their cooking or sewing projects and posting them for you to grade would really change things up and allow them to use some 21st Century Skills. Just thinking out loud here.

  2. That would be good if we had the equipment, right now our classroom only has a teacher computer and a projector. I do give choice homework that students can make their own tech presentations for points. That is all I can do until our district has the resources to do more. We do go to the computer lab 3 times in a 9 weeks to research, create, and produce a resume' and thank you letters.
